Hii guys, I have been reading a book named “How to win friends and influence people”: written by Dale Carnegie so that I can increase my ability to deal with people and this book gives good points in that regard.

This book consists of 4 parts. In this blog, I will be writing about the first part.

The first thing the author talks about is criticism. He says that we should avoid criticizing people for their actions. Rather we should try to understand why they did so and then if we want to correct them, we should make them aware of their mistakes in a polite manner, not in a rude manner. It is very unlikely that they will find themselves wrong for what they did in the present but if we do this, then they might understand our words and look upon their actions in the future.

Then, Dale talks about the importance of appreciation. He says that we should give honest and sincere appreciation to people who deserve it for their work. Why? Because every person wants to be important in his or her life. It gives them the motivation to do more such work if they are appreciated by someone for it.

For example, if someone posts a high-quality video on youtube about their work or activities and if you praise them for that in the comments, then they will be willing to make more such videos and feel grateful about it.

The next point is said in the context of a person being a leader of a group or a head of people assigned for performing a particular task. The author says that if you want people to get work done for you, then you must give them what they want for doing that task rather than being interested in what you want. A simple example of this is fishing. When people go out for doing fishing, they fit the hook with worms, which the fish finds attractive and follows the person’s desire. They do not put strawberries or something which excites them. The author explains that same is applicable for human beings as well.

Thank you for reading the blog! Have a great day ahead.
